They always come apart - you just need to know how.

And know when to get brutal, obviously.

Fair enough, but it does become a lot more work, and generally you'll have a list of parts to replace anyway, which when you can get carbs in good shape for £30 starts to get a bit pointless IMO... That won't buy many new bits.

I should really fit my "spare" carbs, they're much better kept than mine...

i think you may have a blocked pilot fuel or air jet in one carb.
Soak in carb cleaner and blow through with air, worth a try.

Had this problem before, after cleaning the choke mechanism, relubricating and re-fitting the bike ran fine for a few days and then returned to its old silly tricks. Repeated this a few times but the cable was knackered, when removed from the carbs it appeared to be working but the springs hadn't the strength to work correctly with the plungers attached to the carbs. Forked out £26 quid to Suzuki for a new cable, problem solved. As a matter of interest you haven't re-jetted or changed exhaust/airfilter or anything.
Good luck,

P.B.

we swapped tha carbs off suzy on to the black one, and put the black ones jets into suzy's carbs, cause she was dino'd and rejetted and i felt that the orginal ones shoud be on the black one.
It was the carbs that were the problem. The black ones carbs were stripped and attacked with carb cleaner and it didn't make a difference, also all cables and everthing in and out of them was inspected by three people. we made this decision on the fact that no matter what we did the balancing on the carbs were completely opposite to each other.(one at thre one at 12)no matter what we played with
Eventually aas a very last rsort a carb transplant did the trick, I just need a decent set to put back in suzy now,
