My brother just bought an '07 Astra VXR! It is seriously nice, and really great fun cruising around in it. I think it has 240 bhp. I want one!

I regularly do over a ton, usually as some chav is trying to race me in his pathetic Corsa or Nova. But every now and again I get my **** handed to me by proper cars but I won't take huge risks to make a point. Got done by an RS4 the other night. This thing was a snarling beast sat on my back tyre at almost 140. Had to pull over for fear of being devoured by the gaping intake and off he went. It's not big or clever but it certainly is fun and that's why I love bikes. You will get no complaints from me if I get banned doing something silly but I do try to save it for the times when you can get away with it. I have so many wanabe racers on my way into work but in rush hour traffic I am not playing. Lucky for me there are plenty of nice long straight bits of road to play with cars in my area.

Dan, by the sound of your posts, you seem to have been beaten by a
lot of cars. ![]() Can you actually ride that bike of yours? ![]() |

A patron of the pub i used to work in had a scooby. He bought it after many an off on his bike. He wanted aceleration.
Modified to with an inch of its life, with i beieve around 700hp on gas, a modified gearbox, and all manner of toys, it hit the 60 mark in around 3.6 secs, qtr in 10.4 i believe, but short top end due to the box. Boy it was quick. Sadly it came to a grizzly end with an arctic wiping it out on a roundabout!! Done many a busa, and R1 to about 85. Hmmm, RS4's 420bhp, yes please. An ABT tuned one, ooo, 550bhp. Dont warp it, i'll wera it home *Drools* Last edited by Viney; 12-07-07 at 03:24 PM. |

![]() Well I would say I get beaten on a regular basis, but then agian I am married! The thing is I live in a fairly affluent area (no I'm not affluent at all) and ride through places like Virginia Water, Bagshot and Ascot/Sunningdale and Egham a lot. In the past I've come up against, DB9's, a Vanquish, Ferrari 612 Scagglietti in Egham, a Ferrari F40 and lots of M3's and Porshe's (mainly 911 Turbo and Carrera 4 but one lovely GT3 as well). I don't mind losing to these cars though. |

Tell him to contact Thorney Motorsport for a new exhaust, and remap and he'll be amazed by the difference. We've had ours about a year, been on track. Its a good car. Hooligandan, ignore the chavved up corsas, but if you see a very tidy one with large brakes up front and an intercooler poking out the front, leave it alone ![]() ![]() |

For me this whole arguement comes down to costs when a three grand bike can give a £20k car a run for its money that will do for me. Plus its much more fun to go around a corner with your knee on the deck than sideways in a car!! well imho it is.
