Spotted a colleague watching the post match presentation discreetly from the back of the Long Room. So I grabbed him for this photo as it was too good to resist. (For the non cricket fans, Jonny on the left is the England wicket keeper and man of the series). If he ever needs a stunt double...

Drove to Southend today to photograph a match. Got 4 overs in and then that big black cloud dumped so much rain on us we sat around for 4 hours before giving up and going home.

In a slight change from the usual I include today a photo taken of rather than by me. I was having a hug with my dear friend Nick on Monday and one of the photographers grabbed a photo on the long lens without me realising and just sent it to me. It's rare for me to have my photo taken, let alone like the result, but this one I think sums up the affection between me and my mate, who is having a tough time of it career wise at the moment. I am standing down the slope from him though, I may be small but I'm not 4ft tall and he is 6'2"!

Indeed. I've been friends with him for a dozen years and this sadly may be the last time I see him in an England shirt. We've supported each other through quite a few ups and downs over that time.
