Very pleased with the 1.4 Minolta. I'd been hunting one for a while. One of those like we were talking about the other day in that sometimes, it's worth paying a bit more for higher end stuff. Managed to get it for just over £30. Will try to test it out soon.
As for the 500G, I spent Saturday afternoon doing this .....

These things have a reputation for light leaks so I'll have to run a film through it quick if I'm going to take it to Chengdu.

I need to test my 500 G again.
You can have the Minolta if you like. I assume you meant my one.

No, I meant Yoko's 1.4. Which Minolta have you got? I won a Seagull tlr. Listed as spares as the shutter doesn't work according to the listing.

Thanks for the offer Admin, trying to stay away from APS as its hard to find film and someone to develop it.

I tend to donate stuff that I no longer need, but will offer it up here first. Most of my gear has cost around a tenner, so it's no issue to move on. Good work on the seals there Yoko.

I know I mentioned it before but the brake and clutch cleaner definitely does a job. Was having trouble with the Helios 44-2 focus ring; it would hardly move. Supposedly the lens comes apart into 2 bits - optical and focus units but couldn't separate those either. Working on the assumption that the optics and blades would be protected, I gave the focus ring a few squirts of brake & clutch cleaner around the gap between it and the body. 10 minutes later, we have a freely moving mechanism.
Certainly recommend trying it on stuck blades and mechanisms and it evaporates pretty quickly.

Thanks Kenzie.
I wasn't at work today so put the MD Rokkor 1.4 on the SRT 101, went out and finished off a whole roll of Poundland film. Not sure about the SRT. The camera itself is fine but there's no split prism in the focussing screen. My old man eyes are not used to that so found myself trying to keep the aperture stopped down a bit in the hope that a bit of DoF will compensate for anything out of focus. Will be interesting to see how the pics come out.
