Re: Vintage film cameras
I have the LC-A cleaned up ready to make some new light seals. The old ones had turned to sticky goo which is not good, mostly what jams the shutters on these.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hey Yoko, posted out the Zenit today. Had to send it by Parcel Force 48 due to weight. Damn Russian cameras!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Had a look at the sack of rust. OMG, it's like a graveyard. Not sure which one you were interested in Kenzie, there is a little grey Ilford Sprite 127 (with spool), a very rough Kodak Autographic A with metal spool (I only found out yesterday what the "autographic" feature was), and the rest is a mess. The Zeiss is parts only, however the shutter actually works well. There is the top plate for a Leidolf Lordomat with a working selenium meter. Most of it is nameless. It's like the opening scene of Hellraiser, going through them all! A hulk of a Minolta Autocord with no shutter, the fascia of a Yashica TLR, a leather case for a Welmy (Six, I presume).

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, about the weight of a brick! My Seagull has arrived, lack of film isn't the issue and the shutter is sticky. I have exercised it and it will fire but it is very sluggish. No idea how to get in to clean the blades.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Which Seagull did you buy?
... Ah, I think I found it on Ebay. Can you get the front off? If so, hit it with clutch cleaner! Last edited by yokohama; 30-08-17 at 07:38 PM. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
This any good??
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNFDCvf-blM It looks complicated....involves removing the front leatherette and some screws to get in. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I did watch that. Will do some digging on tlr repair as my greatest fear is messing up the focus. Shutter fires now but sluggish and the speed doesn't change.
