I'd take either of those, although maybe in red, as the yellow reminds me of Yamaha colours

The faired one with the Sheene 7 looks great - but it would not sound right without a howling 2-stroke soundtrack... And I agree, the Fabergé/Brut colour scheme would be better

Mmm! I like all of them but particularly the cafe racers.

Running out of electricity on the bike at weekend, a passing chap came back with jump leads. When this didn't work, helped me push it up the hill for half a mile (in the Dales) to get it on charge at his in-laws. Then took me to the campsite I was heading to down the road.

Didn't want anything in return (so I left some beers when I went to get my bike). Saved my weekend and it fired up fine and made it all the way home on Sunday (so still some figuring to do as seems to only be an issue when hot).

Nice story

Have you checked the voltage across the battery on a 20v DC setting on a Meter with the engine idling?

Anything above 14.5v and north of 15V and the Regulator part of the R./R may be on the way out

Not yet, I couldn't be hassled yesterday. I'm picking up a couple of jerry cans of fuel tonight (fuel light came on, on the way home) then I can start the fun and games.

I was going to check the stator resistance (sure it was OK when I changed the ign pick-up a few weeks back) then the voltage across the battery (I know it dropped to 5v when cranking on the last battery) then if there is nothing jumping out, let it get hot and start again (I'll get the spare battery ready to swap out in case).

I'll clean all contacts and add some ACF50 whilst I'm at it.

I wonder if the insulation on the stator is starting to fail. As it heats up and expands it starts to short across its coils?

A couple of days ago my desktop pc asked if it could update to windows v1903. It failed miserably with a bsod....but I did eventually manage to boot it to its original build.

Of course this cheesed me off no end. I foresaw lots of time wasted trying to work out the cause and applying a fix before trying again.

Last night it asked again and I said no. I wanted to backup parts of the registry etc before I committed myself to more misery.

This morning I thought I'd do the previously mentioned backups and guess what..... Yep its gone and updated itself only successfully this time.

So SOTD because I no longer have to go through the agony of sorting this issue out. Also GOTD because given the choice I'd have updated when convenient to me.
