Re: The All New Megathread
I will hopefully get some more of my pre-initial-service miles in on the 800RE this weekend. Plus get some dry cleaning sorted, and possibly a tie and panama hat purchased, so I'm ready for our anniversary trip in a few weeks. We board the train at HW station at 5am and end up in Dartmouth at lunchtime, before the return later in the day. As we went with posh seats (it is our pearl anniversary after all) the tickets say smart casual is the minimum expected, and I suspect everyone will, like us, dress up and make it a fun experience. Trouble is, I hate shopping for clothes of any kind...

Re: The All New Megathread
Too hot for riding today so mainly working in the garden, too hot for that too.
Weather looking rubbish for Saturday so any chance to ride the bike will have to wait till Sunday, maybe. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk

Re: The All New Megathread
First time I've ever had the front wheel out of the street triple, so I didn't have the required 17mm allen hex socket. The second shop I went to had a kit, so got that. Got the wheel off the bike, got the tyre changed, drove home, then noticed the tyre is an Angel ST instead of the Rosso 4 I asked for.
The tyre supplier sent my fitter the wrong tyre, and he doesn't have a Rosso. And he is going on holiday next week, so I can't get it fitted till next Friday. Come on RAIN!!!! |

Re: The All New Megathread
Sounds very irritating Darren. I had Avons on the Bonneville, which were excellent, but I know all too well how it feels to specify one thing and get something else. Like the RAC installing a different make and spec battery to my last car, saying it would be fine. It was not... Hope you get it sorted soon.
After a very nice day wandering the fringes of the Cotswolds, Bullseye now has the magical 600 miles on the clock for his first service. Shame I still have over two weeks until the first booking I could get. Thankfully I can go over by a bit without worry, per the dealer. One thing I tried today was moving the screen to its lowest position. It came set in high, but two minutes with an allen key (not supplied by Suzuki) and it was done. Magically, all the turbulence and buffeting around my lid was gone. On the downside, less air got into my Arai's vents so its a bit warmer around the bonce. Worth it though.

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. Grey and dreary here today. I'm hoping it's going to stay dry as I'd quite like to get out on the bike at some point.
This does seem to be the norm these days Trevor. Tool kits on bikes have been reduced to just one or two items on most bikes now. Pleased to say that my curvy came with a full, and useful tool kit. |

Re: The All New Megathread
Hugh, my T100, came with an allen key as a "toolkit". Never did look to see what bolts it would fit.
Bullseye also has an allen key (wrong size for the screen) and a, gasp, double-ended screwdriver. Although comically it took my five minutes of hunting to find the handle for it which is bafflingly on the underside of the seat...

Re: The All New Megathread
I've never really been interested in watching sports yet we seem to have been swamped with various sporting events on the TV this year. Football, cricket and now Olympics.

My VFR had hooks under the seat, the same as the SV, no need to faff with bits of wire but then I'm old enough to remember when you used to get proper helmet locks with key locks. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
