A couple of friends have the Canyon Ultimate CF and really like it. They seem to get on with it fine for longer rides too. They do the Endurace version now too which I'm guessing will be really comfortable with the high headtube.

I'd imagine the Aeroad sacrifices a bit of comfort for performance though.

Best compromise I've found was a customers bike a while ago.. Specialized Roubaix. Very very nice. So comfortable and really agile too. I had to test ride it after servicing it and normally get the test ride done in a couple of minutes. I could have stayed out all afternoon test riding it!

Canyons have a good reputation and as far as I know their size guide is fairly good.

Front mudguard fitted not too bad bit faff

Rear mudguard for saved for another day as I need to chop it as it will get mashed when I put it in the bike rack at work and lock it up.

I went for the set Mav suggested

SKS Bluemels Road Mudguard Set but got them from Wiggle as they were cheaper. Came in a massive box!!

Proper mudguards are well worth the faff, mine have been on 3 years 12,000 miles with zero maintenance so far...

Full mudguards must be the way to go, I got raceblades which are great at keeping me clean but the frame and crank are taking a pounding.

Oh, just to let you know we're all doing it wrong Gravel Bikes are the future. I was in a bike shop in Glasgow and I was getting the heavy sell on them...
