Morning all. I like the sound of the fair in Whitchurch, I'll try to remember to go next year! Mrs LP will love it. I've just had a cold too Gary, it's the time for them I guess. The fun for today is the water is 'off' - well not entirely its the old russian roulette of if the water in the pipes up-hill of us lasts until the burst is fixed....

Hope the water supply is sorted pronto Mike.

I'm hoping this cold is the usual short lived affair as Jan and I are heading for the Lakes this weekend to do some walking.

Morning all. Early start this morning as I have to get the car into Oswestry for an MoT. I suspect it's going to need some work doing on it. It's had an engine management light on for months and my little diagnostic tool says it's the EGR valve at fault. However, for the last 3 or 4 days it's not come on, so I shall be interested to see what the garage makes of it.

Dismal and grey here this morning so I think I'll be dodging showers while I scull around town till I can get the bus back home at midday.

Morning. Hoping to go and get my car back today. It's had a lot done to it and the bill is err... quite big. Ouch! I wish the car was as cheap to run as the bike.

Going to be a bit busy for the next couple of days. Collect the car today, and sort a few gardening jobs, then a meeting in Newtown tomorrow morning, look at someone's computer on the way back, then get packed ready for an early start to our trip to the lakes on Saturday. Still trying to shake off this cold as well.

How's the next few days looking for everyone?

Ohhh MOT costs are a PITA but essential. Just had similar with our little car. However, its the first time it has cost us anything in 8 years (apart from tyres / servicing)

Feeling a bit off colour today as we had COVID boosters yesterday but hoping to get out on the bike at some point as the weather looks to be improving.

First of four days off - yay!

Weather was pants first thing so wandered into town to drop off some dry cleaning and look for some new base layers. My old "bamboo" ones are worn through at the knee and so baggy they're no longer comfy. Lasted me years so no complaints. Could not find anything in Sports Direct (everything grouped by brand, so odd) and Black's only had cheap polyester or hideously expensive merino. M&S it is then for their medium warmth options, although I have to order them as they're not in stock... Ah well, at least I'll stay warm when the Mercury plummets.

Morning all. A good frost here this morning. It means I shall have to do a quick tidy around the garden before we go to Cumbria. Cut down all the beans, salvage the last of the tomatoes and pull the plants out, same with the cucumbers and courgettes.

I was supposed to be going to a meeting in Newtown this morning but I'm still feeling pretty off with this cold, and I don't want to pass it around so I've sent my apologies.

Once the sun warms things up a bit it looks like being a nice day to be outside, so I shall get wrapped up and head out with Mabel for a walk.

What's everyone else up to?

Still marvelling at last night's Aurora. I've never seen the lights before, for over 20 minutes we were in our garden, turning this way and that as the colours emerged, shimmered and danced. It was like CGI in the sky.

It was pretty amazing around here too. We live in an area with not much light pollution so it is easy to find a dark spot. It was pretty busy at the top of the local hill!

As a side note, the change to all LED street lighting has made a huge difference to light pollution in Denbighshire. I think mainly because the lights only shine downwards and have hoods to prevent 'light leakage' upwards.
