Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. Brighter morning here today, and it looks like we have some sun for the day.
I seem to have finally shaken off the cold that's been plaguing m for the last couple of weeks and all the snot and crap is moving thankfully. Jan and I had arranged to go on a group walk with friends tomorrow, but I've just looked in my diary and realised I have a meeting in Newtown in the morning. Bugger! Still, the forecast is good so I'll use it as an excuse to go on the bike. How is the week shaping up for everyone else? Last edited by garynortheast; 22-10-24 at 07:50 AM. |

Re: The All New Megathread
Lovely day here at Trev Towers so decided to make the most of it and ride to the garden centre instead of driving. Need some more Jeyes Fluid. Was munching my breakfast toast first though, as you do, and noticed that Sportsbikeshop has just reduced the price of the new new lid I've had my eye on by 35%. Woo hoo! No way was I paying full price for a Schuberth E2 so I've been waiting for this.
Heated grips were on for the 90 minute ride to the Milton Keynes branch and after trying two different sizes on I ordered the Large in Defender White. It should be delivered to TT tomorrow. Excellent. My old Arai is getting on a bit so it was about time for its replacement. No need for the heated grips on the way home, I do so like the handguards on Bullseye, and I back in time for lunch. Although as I pushed the bike back into the garage I realised I had completely forgotten about the disinfectant...

Re: The All New Megathread
Just tried to get on the Sportsbikeshop website and it appears to be down.

Re: The All New Megathread
Hopefully the Alpinestars textile trousers Lady Poppy has promised me for my birthday will also rotate into their 35% off category soon. It will be nice to have some strides that let me do up the top button again. Heaven knows how my elderly leather ones managed to shrink so much...

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. A wet day in store for us today, after two days of lovely sunshine. Indoor jobs today I think!

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning Gary. Wet here too. Did get a nice spin on the bike yesterday, albeit with a reminder of how easily things can end in tears: halfway round a bend on the Cat & Fiddle road, there was a good amount of fine gravel from a lorry strewn right across my line. Ran wide on the exit and missed the kerb by three inches.
We're off to East Yorkshire tomorrow to supervise the clearing of my mother-in-law's house prior to sale, which will be quite a weight off our minds. |

Re: The All New Megathread
Humidity! It rained a little here this morning and then the sun made a half hearted attempt to come out. The rH in my house was about 68% (which is on the high side), so I opened a couple of windows and went to help my friend time his Matchless G9. On my return, the rH was now 71%. No wonder people get mould (and bikes rust).

Re: The All New Megathread
Wet here today too from mid-morning. Thankfully DPD still deliver in the rain and the new lid I ordered at lunchtime yesterday arrived at Trev Towers at 11 today. Much to Lady Poppy's amusement I wore it a couple of times for half an hour each this afternoon while trying to focus on work, to make sure it fitted with no pressure points. Glad so say it fits well, and very happy indeed that it fits in my existing topbox.
Will be commuting to the office (in the car) for the next two days which will bring my good mood back down a notch or two though later in the week...

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. Dry here so far and hopefully it'll stay that way. I have a ton bag of Shropshire gravel being delivered this afternoon, which I need to barrow around the back of the house. It'd be nice not to be doing it in the rain!
What's everyone else up to? |
