Re: Vintage film cameras
Just realised why my Envoy Wide Angle shots are out of focus:
That's a close up filter not a UV/Haze filter.... I have removed it and will run another film through at some point. Bet you can't wait to get home Yoko, bring a jacket though as it has turned Arctic here! Can't wait to see your photos. You really need to get on Flickr!

Re: Vintage film cameras
We had a little snow today, in the afternoon. I was off as our daughter has tonsilitis, my wife has been off with her the rest of the week but she'll be back at school tomorrow, she's never off for this long. She was running around in the snow, I tried for a picture so will have to see if it comes out. Light was poor, the meter on my Contessa said 1/15 at f4 or so, and I added an auto flash on the auto setting where I can use f4 (it's that or f5.6) and 1/30. Am hoping the background will be good enough and the flash will freeze the flakes, or at least pick them out. Find out some day when I finish the film!
Yoko, the back end of your trip sounds like it'll make the smog worthwhile. A few years back I nearly signed up to a bike tour of the Himalayas on an Enfield Bullet. I'll be very interested to hear about it and see the pics. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Why didn't you go for it Johnny? I've seen a really good job lot of gear at an auction down the road. We can bid online and its at £5 at the moment. Its live tomorrow at 10 so I may put a bid in.

Re: Vintage film cameras
A nice pocketable 35mm folder if anyone is interested? 332465236489 I have decided to use the Kiev 4A as a point and shoot seeing as the RF is bust. It seems a shame to put it in the junk box.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Sorry missed the auction stuff, any idea what the actual selling prices were? I looked at one once, the estimated prices in advance were ridiculously low, reeling people in I guess, and nothing went anywhere near them. You have quite a bit in fees to add as well.
Do you know why the Kiev RF isn't working? Is it the same with the lens off your other Kiev? |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I think it's adjustment. I had a play with it earlier and I had some slight movement but I would have to play with it some more.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hey Johnny, 132420132978 a Bessa like the one I sent to you. Not sure if the 6x4.5 mask is there though.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yours had an 8-speed shutter shutter, the mask won't fit the Certo and I've had my fill of scale focus 6x9!
