Can anyone confirm what the actual fines are for different things?

Number plate =
Exhaust =
Tinted visor =

I thought all of these were £30, but recently in derbyshire number plates went upto £60, is this for everything or are the tinted visor and exhaust still £30 each.

Maybe bluepete can confirm or does it differ between forces?

My plate is legal now, I'll carry a clear visor... but my exhaust is edging on loud although does not say not for road use on it.

I asked the same question G ...and got an answer but I can't p1ssing remember what it was. Only number plates going up rings a bell - but get it confirmed.

You'd be unlucky do get done for your exhaust as (or as I understand it) they have special vehicle inspection officers who are the ones trained to give tickets for defective exhausts (and other things) i.e using a db meter or just inspecting it. so chances are if a regular officer was dealing with you they wouldn't be bothered to call for one of these guys (unless you pee'd on their shoes or something) and if it was one of these ones chances are they still couldn't be arsed unless you're really taking the p1ss.

Me and orose got stopped (by one of the inspector sorts I assume as it was a targetted operation) because they heard orose from a few counties away yet had a good look at his track only race pipe and let him off. I'd been pootling yet they ticketed me for mine as it had a hole for baffle fitment (my stupid fault as I'd got concious of setting off car alarms and drilled this hole the week before!).

Binky as said I'd remove the indicators if you can't fix them or I'd imagine it'll be a case of doing it at the road side and losing £30 if you're unlucky. Very possibly £30 for each indicator but I'm sure redherring said they can only do you for one defect at the roadside and you could argue it should be one fine for the indicator system (which may be the case.
...or you could just see how the r1 feels...

Plate = £60 no points

Pete sorry to be a bit off topic but could you confirm what the deal is with vehicle inspector type traffic officers? Road wars were pretty vague about it but basically they had this poor kid on a bike stopped by the side of the road for hours on end while they waited for the nearest trained officer to arrive...

(...then after this copper had arrived and verified it was legal the guy's bike wouldn't start or something - had to get recovered! )
