F*ck off £140!! I didn't pay that for the bike. Rockshox indys I think. £21.

Cap on top is what holds the forks in. You have a press in (hammer in) screw thing into the fork stem and then you put the handle bar stem and spacers on and tighten the top of the headset onto the stem to pull it all tight. dont go too tight though or you'll crush the bearings (as you'll know).

Man, £140 is cheap for forks

If you've got front disc brake then I can sell you my old Marzocchi Dirt Jumer Comp's...

Those the threadless fellers then?

Mine are screwed on down the steering stem similar to a proper bike setup, the bars then attach by sliding down the inside of the steering stem. Or are we just on about the same thing differently/

Nah I've just got V brakes, powerful enough for my skills.

HA KONA! aka scaffold poles. Kona is for blokes who weigh 14+stone who'd snap a smaller lighter frame. You go down a rooted section on a bike like that and your a passenger not a rider. A mtb should be light and chuckable it needs to bounce around underneath you not bounce you all over the place. That frame alone weighes more than my last bike did complete.

Sorry its not personal I just really really hate the Kona range.
YC +1 to the RS indi s's My old old bike which is now my current bike again after selling my old bike (do keep up). came with those although I did swap them out for a pair of RST base model shortly after purchase.

He's right.

My bike came with this fitted. £180 and that's classed as budget.

I was drooling over this. but I don't need them

I don't like the slow(ish) steering of 'Carnage', my Marin, and thinking about changing the stem.

I have my eye on this. Hope (in red to match my bike cos I'm a tart) but there's loads of lengths and angles which confuse me.

I like m Kona, it dont weigh much since its only a 13" frame. Still though its good, dont weigh that much. Besides, heavy is good as it means you get fitter faster

Oh and steering is very fast thanks to wide bar's and short stem. Grand.

Oh and here is the review of my forks. I got them for £140 and it says £220 there!

Well then what you complaining about? More weight = faster down!

Anyway's I have no direction change issues.

I got a new toy, a Gravity Dropper Descender... Basically a seatpost that shrinks- press a button and it drops by 4 inches. There's a remote version, which is awesome, mine was cheap off a mate and is the version with the button on the seatpost, so it's harder to operate but still ace. Seat goes up... Seat goes down. Seat goes up...
