well i did say when we stopped to get fuel that the person in front of me flew past the scamera van but i wasn't sure who it was

So nobody else has received one then?

What's the deal with Orose as his NIP didn't give him the option to plead quilty by post and take the usual fine? Is it a court appearance or does the fixed penalty follow?

They changed it a little while ago. All the NIP does now is to say that they are intending to prosecute you and they ask you to identify the rider / driver. You fill the form out saying "yes it was me, heres my details" and then send it off, they'll then send you a 2nd letter telling you whether they intend to prosecute you or not and if they do they will give you the option to plead guilty via post. It obviously depends on the speed limit and the speed you clock you at.

If they are intending to take you to court over it they'll tell you in the 2nd letter, but IIRC they have 6 months from the date of the offense in which to tell you that.

I think thats how it works, thats certainly the process I went through when I got my last set of points in 2006.

Thanks for the explanation. Was worried in case a court appearance was on the cards for young Ollie. Fingers crossed it'll just be the statutory fine and points or, better still, decide not to persue the case.

Im still in the clear, told teacosy not to worry as they cant read a number plate if your on one wheel with it facing the floor...
