Still standing here and preparing the Boxing Day buffet. Will be eating leftovers for the rest of the week, but that's good as far as I'm concerned. Bubble and squeak from leftover veg is one of the highlights of Christmas food for me.

Thick mist here-Wife trogs over to a local pub to take part in Boxing day celebrations with her Garland dancing side. I usually cycle over but there is no fun cycling in the weather as it is so will give it a miss this year.

Boxing day walk in the hills with daughter Sioned this morning. Stunning weather and scenery and all without having to drive anywhere. I am very fortunate to live here.

Was deliberately a quiet one this year at our household (and further diminished by wife suffering with a heavy cold and cough illness) so we didn't gear up for a massive meal etc, meaning few leftovers to deal with: But the dog and cat will certainly enjoy a few days of extras of scraps from the whole chicken we cooked.

It was actually quite refreshing not to get caught up with a 'forced fun' bandwagon and to take some proper rest and guilt-free relaxation.

I don't agree Gary. You live where you do through your choices, which I suspect are good ones. My wife often says the same, but I point out that we have worked to live here and made choices to enable us to continue living here.

Never say it's fortune when you've worked to be where you are.

I'm glad you live somewhere you love.

Ruffy, we had a Chrimbo like yours last year (without the poorly bit). Daughter was at her inlaws and my parents insisted on staying home just the two of them. Lady Poppy and I had a wonderfully restful break.

Four of us this year and we've just got back from a nice walk through the woods around the NT manor house across the park from us. The Chiltern hills are not quite as dramatic as the Welsh hills Gary has on his doorstep but we enjoy them all the same.

We've had a nice festive season so far. Hope you all have too.

Morning all. Grey here, but with a bit of sun forecast for later, to be followed by more rain.
Mabel and I are off out for a walk with a friend and his dog shortly. We should be able to grab two or three hours in the hills before the weather turns.

How's the day looking for everyone else?
