Re: Vintage film cameras
I think so, maybe £70 if it were a Novar, but that would be for an average one on its own, so maybe a good bit more if the wind is favourable. For 6x6 a Novar is fine (maybe also 6x9 but I don't know) so really they're not bad value and will never get cheaper. In terms of build quality and engineering they're top notch, the end of the evolutionary line maybe but noticeably more modern than some of the ones we shoot with.

I was a 10 minute walk from there when I lived in Leeds.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Had a dig into the Gaf Memo, I managed to release the tension in the winder spring but something is still not right. Gaf Memo on the left, Ricoh Auto Half on the right.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looks like the Seagull will stay stuck closed. Have been quoted £150 plus shipping to have it serviced.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Pfft. If you are patient you can send it up. By the way do you need a couple of metal 127 spools?

Re: Vintage film cameras
That would be cool, but don't you have a list? I would have to give you something for fixing it though.

Re: Vintage film cameras
There's always a list! If you can't use it then time is moot, but I am more motivated by stuff that isn't mine. How hard can it be? Umm, Konica, Certo, Super Ikonta IV... OK that last one was a combo of incompetence and inexperience.
Finally finished the film in my Contessa which I put in in August or something. Am taking the Ensign 6x9 and Kiev out tomorrow night to try again at a night picture of a bridal shop in town. I got a good one with my phone last year and been trying to replicate it. I've taken more pictures and looked at the EXIF, and have settled on EV5 for the outside and maybe EV7 for the lit-up window. http://endoflow.com/exposure/ Holmes Bridal in Tickhill by John Rodriguez, on Flickr I'll try the Kiev at EV5 on a couple of different settings, and also the Ensign, and am going to try EV7 with flash to try to expose for the window and add some light to the brickwork. Am using 3 stops closed up on the flash from normal to tame the output a bit (1/8 of normal). Will need some patience to see the results as you know! Only just put the film in the Kiev recently. |
