Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
120 ish miles on the CRF today. Seems to be ok for longer journeys (avoiding motorways). Even with the currently dodgy front forks. Mostly with the throttle pinned and plenty of bouncing off the rev limiter / working the gears to get up to national limits. It does ok for a 250! 6th gear is pretty useless (shift into it at 65mph and you actually start slowing down) so going to play with alternative sprocket(s). Best tank was 106mpg and worst has been 65mpg. Currently averaging 76mpg! I'm sure that will change once I install the fuel trickery box.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
It is no longer an order.
That snow shovel needs to go. and then investigate a suitable alternative screen, its current job is to blow the breeze into my face. Seat cowl ordered, rear pegs already off. I have bikes to get away from my wonderful generous wife. not take her with me. She keeps talking sidecars, listened in when the insurers asked about mods and mentioned side car. the last time I drove one of them was a Cossack Ural in ......1978 with the chair on the wrong side to scare the passenger.

Very nice Tim but how will you mount a top box to that rear end?

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I have already worked out that the disc lock fills the available storage. meaning dry days only as no room for the plastic romper suit.
I actually have a rack for the little gixxer so maybe that is still my away day toy. Seriously though I have looked at the silly touring package, Doesn't help that my gobby SIL has a bandit 1250 with the full set up. I explain I do away with decent hotels and arrange for them to send on my luggage, obviously after they launder it. Daughter is buying me a R&G tail tidy for my birthday. Gobby SIL say "I would have told them to fit it in the cost", and the hugger and the seat cowl and the screen. Then says, I came here to look at a bike and they wouldn't do a deal!

A nice 22KM Mountain Bike Ride this morning. Was nice to be out in the cooler, slightly damp conditions.
