Re: Vintage film cameras
Thats why I'm glad I don't have anything local like that. I'm quite chuffed how well it cleaned up. It looks like they ran side by side but yours was for people who wanted a wider aperture at wide angles. The other bits I bought should be here in a couple of days.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got the Yashica through today, the meter works but the shutter won't release. The lens has oil all over the blades and the inner lens elements. Total strip and clean job it is then!

Re: Vintage film cameras
The lens should be a doddle for you this time. The camera might be more difficult being electric. Hope you can fix it up.
I need to start looking for knackered Nikon lenses. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Lol, no! I have the front off but I can't figure out how to get any further. I also have the rear element off and can't figure out where to go next. Just won this: 352286550746

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yoko, what lens did I send you? Was it an ML or a DSB? Can you unscrew the whole top end where the beauty ring screws in? The problem with the lens I am working on it that the insides seem to be sealed in meaning I cannot get into the guts of it. If its borked then I can send you the beauty ring mount.

Not sure about the one you sent me. It's an F2 and the beauty ring says ML so I'll guess that. Had a quick look but I'm not sure if the top end unscrews. Don't worry about it. Without the ring, the filter fits on and I used the lens when testing the FX3 and it works fine. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looks like the FX-D is borked as well. I can manually trip the shutter but the electro release doesn't want to know. I have spotted a break in the motor wind circuit board as well as a dry solder joint in one of the micro switches. Plus side is that is has some strap triangles attached.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Another camera from my collection. Kodak Retinette 1b. It's pretty basic but it all seems to work apart from the self timer.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I have one of those as well, supposed to be a great lens. I'm most of the way though a roll in mine. According to my google-fu, the Zorki in the lot I just bought is a 1b, however, the Durst lens fitted is an enlarger lens. Maybe a Jupiter 8 off my Zorki 4 will fit.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The DSB might live yet! Got the glass out, they were a push fit, and have cleaned then lenses up. I need to sort the sticky blades and then put it back together and sort the focus out. I accidentally moved it while dismantling.
