With a month to go, you might want to leave the final check until a bit nearer the time ... like the night before ... presuming you are going to use the bike between now and then, there is no point doing your pre-trackday check now

I need to get some practice in. I've only done 100+ miles once this year and by the end my clutch wrist was aching as were my thighs due to continually hanging off the bike.

You don't need a torque wrench, and you don't need a paddock stand to adjust a chain. You need a socket large enough to undo/do back up the spindle nut and a 12mm spanner to adjust the chain, that's all. You can easily do it with the bike on the stand, in fact the owners manual says you should check it when it's on the sidestand. There's no need to get the rear wheel in the air.

Just loosen the rear wheel spindle nut a little way and then take the 12mm spanner and turn the adjuster nuts a quarter turn at a time each clockwise until the slack is correct. If you start on the left nut, end on the right, do both the same amount of 1/4 turns to keep the wheel in line. Once it's got th right slack you tighten the spindle nut.

So simple a blind chimp could do it.

I'm bringing a toolchest to Silverstone, so if anyone wants chains adjusting on the day, don't be afraid to ask.
