Re: Vintage film cameras
I farrked it up. I've slightly ovaled the middle element holder, the female part of the focus helicoid. the new shutter is off a Super Ikonta III which is very similar to my IV but no light meter (that makes no odds), it's a Novar not a Tessar (maybe I can swap the glass, Novars are not bad though, got one on my Mess Ikonta), and there are a couple of minor differences - hopefully either I'll make it fit or nick the bits I need.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Our work canon d100 has an issue with sd cards. I've just pulled it apart to see if I can salvage something, sadly not.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, that will kill it. No chance of sending it off for repair then?
Mmmmm... fungus! Came with a Pentax MG for £8.50. Spun the front off and cleaned it up. Now living on my Pentax MV.

Re: Vintage film cameras
A new pcb is £105. You can get a second hand one for not much more.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Can't your work sort one out? Not short of cameras are they?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yes, they've already pushed a Fuji xa3 into service but none of us like it. I was hoping to fix this more as a challenge really.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I take it the contacts accrue top end have broken from high usage? Why didn't they give you another Canon?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yep. It's our passport camera. We take the card out after every shoot to put in the Fuji passport printer. So a lot of wear and tear.
