how i worked it was not replacing like for like in the event of an acc or if it got stolen then the mods added no value. depends on the underwriter and the insurance company. yes i pay more than i should but my insurers know everything i have done to the bike. mind you i still only pay £185 FC for a year and that includes all the bells and whistles with gear cover etc.etc

Most of the time things that don't increase power are only mentionable if you want them to be replaced or taken into consideration when valuing the bike after an accident. If you are TPFT then there is no reason that the mods should affect the price or indeed whether they would quote or not.
Yeah I know. I thought I'd be honest and tell them everything! Because it was TPFT I thought the same as you and I even said I would have it valued as standard so if there was an accident it would be repaired to stock but again he said he mentioned that and they still said no. Can only assume its my lack of experience. It's annoying as I would have thought it would make you safer if you had better suspension on the roads! I bet they would insure me on a gsxr750 that's standard albeit at prob 4 x the cost!

Which insurance companies do you guys recommend for this and what mods should be declared ...... So I stay legal of course

Thanks

Rich

Declare "uprated suspension and brakes", and see if they ask further.

Avoid phrases such as "oh some bloke I never met bodged on some GSXR bits off of eBay"

Bikesure have been spot on with me about mods.

Ha ha - thanks Chris, good advice.

Think I will stay fairly standard for a year or two. Need to keep costs down anyway and means easier to insure.

Cheers
