Re: Best insurers for mods?
Just re upped my insurance - Motorcycle Direct (Through the MCN COmpare site) - and half of my renewal with last company. TPFT 230 on a Speed Triple in an SE9 postcode with 2 claims in past 5 years. I bit thier arm off (Roadside/home UK recovery and legal cover included).
Fully comp was double, TPO was 2 quid less........ Last edited by ethariel; 02-08-13 at 04:56 PM. Reason: i really should use the spell checker |

Re: Best insurers for mods?
Hastings for me, good price through compare the market. Phoned them to confirm mods, exhaust, suspension, braided lines and double bubble anything non standard. They said they were only interested if it increased performance.
But after a no fault accident they were terrible. Put it down on the notes as my fault even though I was bumped from behind. Then they suspended my insurance without telling me and told the repairer not to start any work because of my after market exhaust. I only found out because I called to see when I was getting my bike back. After they did a 1 min check, sorry sir we have your declared mods on file. Asked for compensation for my wasted time and got back 50% of my premium. Glad I declared everything. |

Re: Best insurers for mods?
Yup, always declare as they may call you out on it in the event of a claim and not pay out to you or the third party. Charge may be lower than you think, plus probably £25/30 admin fee

Re: Best insurers for mods?
The company I use don't charge for mods but will only put back to standard if they have to repair it. I'll look for their name tomorrow.
