Just got the letter I was waiting for:

Our engineer has now examined your car and it is their initial view that your car is uneconomic to repair. However this assessment may change should further information come to light.

I think that means they are covering it......the problem is I now have to transfer the private plate on it and SORN it and I still don't know what they are going to give me for it.

Arghhhhhh! Damn teenage vanity, but something won't let me give up the plate....

Optician can probably help you there

Unfortunately I don't have one, auto trader can be used to work out a price - Glasses would help you with finding trade prices, etc, wouldn't it (which you don't want)?

Nissan micra 1.0 .... round or about 2000/2001, should find one with MOT for 300 quid, spend the change on a bike.
