Tax on a pushbike? lol. The stance held by most SVorgers, 'if I don't do it, it's not right' Intolerant bunch hehe.

Would be good to have continental style bike lanes that aren't a foot wide and that suddenly disappear and reappear.

With this thread in mind I actually took note of the number of cyclists who passed me on my 20 minute walk home tonight.

16.

Of the 16, not one had any lights, front or rear.

15 were in dark clothing and also impossible to see.

Sensible people, then!

Thats really bad, its no wander that most peoples perception of the cyclist is so low.

My winter bike is fitted with 20watts of halogen light on the front. I have two bright rear lights one set to flash one set to static. All my winter kit has reflective piping all over it. According to one person in the office who passed me in her car on the way home it was really easy to spot me.

It didnt cost much money to get all that sorted and I feel safer knowing that Ive made every effort to make myself visable.

A guy I work with has the same, and he's the only one I've seen wear a helmet too.
