My dad was 21 years older than his girlfriend/come wife, she being 13 years older than me. Whilst he was active and working the age difference was meaningless. Except for one new confused neighbour who thought it was nice of us to have my dad stay with us.
However, old age did catch up with him. He had made all his financial planning to live to a ripe old age and keep his wife in the custom to which she had become accustomed etc. However, he died of cancer age 68 leaving a 48 year old wife. All his private pensions etc stopped at that point. Whilst he left her very comfortable it was by no means sufficient to maintain her lifestyle. She is now a very active 60, but has spent 12 years as a widow, yes she has a life, but nothing like what she had. So remember, what mattered little when you both started your relationship can mean a lot when you start to age.

I think the older the couple, the less it matters, as long as they are both at similar levels of maturity ( or immaturity).

My first wife was 72 when we wed. The nuptials followed a whirlwind romance. I was brow beaten at ny tender 18 years of age to believe that she would cater well for me should she pass away before me.
Well I suppose in truth she didn't lie as when the time came, the freezer was well stocked with 1 person meals! ![]() |

Age difference makes no odds to me.
Unless it's my mum that was seeing someone that was in the same year as me at school. That was a bit wierd. But hey ho. |

I've been out with older women, the biggest age gap was 17 years when I was 22. I saw her recently and the thought that she was over pensionable age nearly made me woof my cookies, but then I thought about what fun it was at the time and calmed down.

I'm 29 and Kate's 24 and it's not a big deal, in fact I'd say she's more settled than I am. Don't think age matters really as long as your both happy.
When I was single I used to operate a strict ten year rule (in either direction) for people I dated/pulled for meaningless sex. By strict I mean I'd go outside it if they were exceptionally fit! |

Age shouldn't matter as long as you both want the same things out of life.
The gap between us Phil is small, considering women mature quicker than men anyway, and even though you're going grey and are tired alot, you're still young at heart (well you act like a child anyway!!) ![]() I have this thing where I don't go for people younger than me, don't know why. the largest age gap there has been for me is 11 years but was an insignificant incident! Life is too short to waste time being concerned what other people think. if you are happy then that is all that matters. |
