Default Re: Cold new tyres

Having fallen off 3 weeks ago on new tyres I'd say take it real easy for the first few miles. Weave it in and out gently on the straights, but the most likely place to fall off is leaning the bike too much in the slow corners, ie mini roundabouts, t-junctions etc. I was half a mile away from the bike shop, if that

In fact the last thing that went through my mind as I turned right from a t-junction was how well I was taking the corner with the new tyres and wham, on my a55 with the bike facing the wrong way. Very annoyed indeed!

So my tip - dont lean it round the real slow corners, try and steer it round if you can, then use the faster speed straights to weave the bike in and out to expose more of the tyre to the road.

Tell you what, we will bake your tyres in my warmers at packing up time on Monday at silverstone. By the time I have loaded everything up in my van your tyres will be nice and toasty and you can ride off home!!

The baking process sweats out all the goo and with hot tyres you will ooze confidence ... that is unless it is still p1ssing of rain and then there is no point!!
