Was it a red back?

When I was a kid, I felt something tickling the inside of my ear one day.

Thinking it was a spider, finger goes into my ear. OUCH!!!! That F#!K^&G HURT!

Finger came out, along with one squished bee. That gave me a massive earache, and I was deaf in that ear for about a fortnight. The damn thing had only stung my eardrum.

Sorry, I'm about as much help as your friend aren't I?

There's no birdie eating spiders in the UK as far as i know, and it would have to be a pretty damn ferocious spider to take on a bird when it was less than an inch long!!!

Oh dear Could you hear it buzzing about at all? I think people can hear flys buzzing in their ears but then they are a bit smaller

Not that I remember. I could feel it walking though (that was the tickling feeling). I might of heard the buzz just as it landed, but can't remember as it was so long ago.

Not only fruit, but also plants. There was a case not so long ago that I think came from South America? The bulb of the plant had been digested by a female spider, who had then laid eggs in there.

Customer bought the plant from a UK supermarket, couple of weeks later, they had loads of spiders crawling around the lounge. Think they were funnel web's too. Fatal those beggars.

Also just seen this on the t'interweb...

Ah, that's nothing. You've obviously seen my recent comments about snakes.

A couple of years back, I also woke up in a room in which a female Chilean rose tarantula had given birth, and the eggs had hatched during the night. Couple of hundred tiny tarantula's...

The cage containing them was left open overnight. I was in a sleeping bag on the floor.

Sorry, not helping again am I?
