cbt for 2 years, started on a scooter - great fun then went onto a cbr 125 had two offs on the cbr125 one in the snow and I got knocked off by a stoned rasta; was very lucky though. Not ridden legally since (that was feb) and I've got my test at the end of the month to jump on the SV . I've covered about 10k on my cbt.

Passed my CBT in May 2002 and my full test in Feb 2004.

15 bikes and about 200'000 miles later I have had about 5 offs. 1 of which was my own fault. I have learned:

I will never be happy with one bike.

Bikes are fun.

UK roads are crap.

UK car drivers are muppetts.

Don't trust Dutch drivers.

Ditches are soft and full of water so okay to crash in.

Passed: 19 June 2007 (4 day DAS)

Bikes: 2 (Bandit SK4 and now a SV650 SK6)

Offs: None (Although I had a very close call with a wall in Snowdonia last August)

Drops: None (Fingers crossed it stays that way)

Mileage: apx 10k (Put about 8.5 on the Bandit, commuting and fun, and have put about 2.5 on the SV so far).

Total mileage is about 50k as I rode a DT50 and DT125 from age 16 - 22.

First rode a GT 250 suzuki in 78 and bought a brand new GT 250 X7 in 79, ran around the Scottish highlands on that for a while before being posted to Germany in 1980, drove an ambulance for a while and decide to take a break from bikes for a while, bought a commuter, a KH 125 in 87 to pass me test on and got t-boned the week after passing and couldnt afford another bike for a while, bought a Kwak GT 550 A1 in 89,had that for a while then got married and couldnt afford a bike for quite some time, then bought a 94 GPZ 400 import in 06 followed by a ZZR 600, Plowsies old curvey in 07 and the 650 Daytona in may of this year. Although Ive had me license for years I dont regard myself as anything but a novice really.
