Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).

My experience is that the roads are wide enough that despite their gargantuan cars, even on their supposedly "narrow lane" sections of interstate you can filter a Goldwing far more easily/safely than you can an SV on most UK motorways.

IIRC, filtering is actually legal in one state, but I can't remember which one, possibly California?

Thats not filtering, its call "lane sharing" Legal to filter in a grey sort of way in some other states as well

But do you want to do this on a HD or a Chopper? One you will be able to hire, the other you wont Not too many companies allow for pick up and drop off at sensible prices but there are a couple. If you decide on buying something don't forget you will still need things like insurance. Decide on what you want to do and then start to dig deeper to what options are available to you.

+1 for interest - I also looked into the option of the route 66 experience, but on one of the Japanese harley clones instead (reinforced by the comment someone made to me last night about it being similar to riding a road drill).

Think the whole package was looking at being $4k or so.

at the moment its just an idea that im intrested in, i would hope to leave the planning to be discused with who ever is intrested in going,

and thinking just get a start point and a finish point, and see what happens.

SF to NY is about 2500miles

but i realy have no idea of routes or anything yet,
