![]() Number 1) Yes i have a 33BHP motorcycle but it gives its fair share and theres not much that will keep up acceleration wise unless of course we are mr super car of course, i do not intentionally set off at the lights for a race, when filtering to the front of the lights, my aim is to get off the ligts as quickly and as safely as possible, it usually mr sports car that lacks size down stairs that has a point to prove and attempts to burn me up and fails.... 125's will beat cars off the line... not hard with bikes power to weight ratio etc. Number 2) Where did i indicate i am a riding god??? I didnt. I got my SV 2 years ago and i am not one to think i am a riding god.... However i have done everything i can to improve my riding, at 17 years old i achieved my ROPSA Silver and was told by my observer that i am ONE of the best young riders he has seen in dorset for a number of years, i am waiting for my retest at 18, to hopefully achieve my Gold.... I will be the youngest in the Country by a few months, the youngest is currently 18 years and 9 months i believe, i am 18 and 3 months and 7 days to be accurate ( as we do have to now, dont we)! I am also going to do IAM, in my spare time i will also be teaching CBT's at weekends. I am struggling to see where the riding god remark comes from there?! I would like to think people give me credit for what i have achieved as what youngster usually thinks to do that, THEY DO INSTANTLY THINK THEY ARE RIDING GODS, 'and that is why young riders have such high death rates on motorcycles, because they think they are riding gods. Number 3) Does it really matter how much i spent on my SV???? Its up to me i was 16 when i bought it, was everything a young lad could want, i still am yet to see an SV round my area in as gooder condition, its done 28,000 miles and still looks immaculate for a 10 year old bike, bearing in mind i bout it getting on 2 years and 7 months ago, the buying/selling market was no where near what it is now. It had 11,000 miles on the clock, and totally standard, rare to get a bike totally standard, always the first things is a slip on can, Full service history, the works, so at the time i would say £2500 was a fair price to pay, and i could afford it so i dont see why it is a problem if i wanted to spend that price on my bike, if i can afford to i will thanks mate! Lastly but no means least..... I know 33bhp aint alot but how many times....... could have a busa ( and the owner is all mouth and no go) and a 33bhp would mince it on corners, its down to the limited power one has and how it is used, and the individuals riding skills is it not?! Search Youtube for skilled riders on smaller machines embarassing riders on larger much more capable machines. sorry for the essay .orgers, i just dislike it when i am accused, with comments that are inappropriate to my riding skills and how i view the way i ride my SV. Not too long ago I went for a ride down the A5. I was taking my 8 year old daughter to a friends birthday party. That section of road is a little twisty, but I was by no means pushing anywhere near my solo riding style. When she'd got off & taken the bike gear off, she was still beaming. Gave me a kiss & went in. As if that wasn't enough, she was then promoted to being the coolest kid in school, turning up to the party on a bike. That moment, right there, sums up why I ride quite nicely. I bought the bike for practical reasons, I continue to ride it by choice. |

![]() Your 33bhp SV will not beat a Busa in the corners, because the Busa will be so far up the road before you even get to the first corner you won't even see it go through the corner. Added to which, the average Busa owner does know how to ride, if he didn't those things are capable of doing a serious amount of damage to the inexperienced or crap riders amongst us and he'd be wormfood by now. I apologise for saying you got ripped off - 2 1/2 yrs ago your bike was worth 2500 quid, but the way you were spouting off made you sound like you first threw a leg over a bike last week, so I naturally thought you'd bought it the week before last. Reel your neck in sunshine, your bike may be fast to you but to the average driver of anything with more than 150bhp, you're just an inconvenience to get past when he wants to make progress. I applaude your efforts to better your riding skills, but please don't go thinking it makes you a far better rider than someone with years of experience and hundreds of thousands of miles under their wheels - we are all infallible, and all our bones break in all the same ways. I like the speed and total focus you need to give to your riding. The extreme leans and the scraping of knee sliders. The getting ready for battle, tightening of zips and ensuring the lid is nice and tight and fog free, that nothing can penetrate the shell you have around you and you alertness is so high you notice everything and see it as it almost before it happens. The controlling of something that can take revenge given the slightest distraction and the mastering of a track. I also like that it is shiny and makes a nice noise

For the freedom and thrill, for the brotherhood of bikers, My first bike was Suzuki TU250 nothing flash just a single cylinder and a bit retro looking. I only had it a couple of hours and it stopped running, I pulled to the side of the road and by the time i'd removed my helmet there were two power rangers on 600's stopping to ask if i needed help. Make very trip is an adventure.

First off: I would hardly say my first post was spouting off, i was merely telling .orgers what i love about my bike and how people get jealous and have to try and take me on just because i got to the lights by filtering, and the limelight suddenly not being on them. To the average person any serious motorcycle looks fast and powerful hense them getting all "oh my god, got to beat him, hes on a bike, and i've got a brand new lotus elise, or whatever! I wouldnt call an evo a super car though, its not, yes its a fast car but its not a tvr, jag, ferrari, lambo, bugatti - there super cars, i wouldnt put a mitsubushi in that league, i am sorry to say. Secondly: Mr supercar is the typical guy that has had a rich mummy n daddy n has had his parents wipe his **** all his life and thinks he has the best of everything and gets jealous when mr biker comes along and suddenly the limelights not on his brand new jag, he thinks he can burn you up etc, putting his boot through the acclerator pedal, vrooming away at the lights making a total c0ck of himself tbh, that is what mr supercar i am talking about. The ones that dont know how to handle what they have bought. Thirdly: Do not tell me to reel my neck in i dont need to, it would seem you are the one that has an issue with 33bhp riders, i know how to get the maximum from my bike, and yes it can take on a few cars with again the power to weight ratio, a restricted sv does not really lose any acceleration being restricted, surely you did no that didnt you being on an SV forum where we all learn about SV's and help each other out??? And i know a busa would outdo a restricted SV, i was using that as a dramatic example but the theory of is not the size its how you use it comes to mind with a 33bhp bike can give a rich boy inexperianced, " all talk, no walk" rider a run for their money on a larger machine on the twists. Fourth: Where did i emply or even begin to suggest that i am thinking i am better than any other rider that has got thousands of miles under their belts and i aint some idiot that thinks ROSPA and IAM is a bl00dy lifesaver so i am struggling to see where you are going with that one. ....... I love my bike so much that it has to cause an online argument over something stupid and people wrongly accusing me of things thats what i love about my bike..... FFS we're all bl00dy motorcyclists, past and present, we all know how some car drivers get jealous just because we can get from a to b quicker..... whats the issue!!! Which cars are these? to be fair the 650 is quick but against anything of substance it will get lunched ADL. If you can't trash an EVO (which you can't on a 650) then you are deffo not going to beat a lambo. Last edited by hob; 09-02-09 at 07:44 PM. |
