Perhaps that started the issues? Warranty item?
Well it is a H*nda, of course it's going to break down.

If it's in warranty, if it IS a reg/rec, it should be replaced. It's not really a "disposable" item such as a chain or tyres, etc.

H*ndas use a powerful alternator as they're wound differently to the suzuki ones. Hence why the alternators strong enough to run an SV for ages are considered a weak spot on the C*Rs.

Have you got a multimeter?

Complete alarm replacement, need to check the battery though and ensure it is working correctly.

What's the best way to check?

Multimeter on 20VDC scale.

Put across battery. Engine running, 5k rpm, lights on, should show 13.5-14.5v

Don't have it with me SK otherwise that is exactly what I'd do. I'm really keen to get the bike sorted with no nagging doubt before attempting brands.

Bring the bike - I'll head home and grab my meter.

In fact that would work - if you follow the A2 into London, then take the A202 you pretty much go past my door.

Or we can work something else out meeting wise.
