I agree that putting everything together with no punctuation is a bit annoying. But as for using too many ??? or !!! thats up to the individual. Also it doesn't show any level of immaturity. Our language continually morphs over the years. Show modern written english to some one from say 200 years ago and they would struggle to understand it, probably going on to claim that it is poorly written. However, punctuation on the whole, will remain constant as it enables our ability to understand the written word in context and meaning. I would profer eats shoots and leaves as a good book to read on this subject.

But and this is were I disagree, punctuation can also be morphic. If the meaning of new punctuation is understood by the general populus and doesnt distract from the meaning of the original text then why shouldn't it become the correct way of doing things ????

Why immature? they just may not have such a good command of the English language or they may be even be dyslexic! (or are you in the "dyslexia doesn't exist" camp?) And - some may say that the use of swear words show a lack of command of the English language!

Language does evolve - hath thee noticed that thee does not use thee these days? Also, I have just finished an OU diploma in Literature and things I thought would be unacceptable for an academic essay are now acceptable.

even i had to look up what "fwiw" meant turns out it means for what its worth, see we learn something new everyday on the mighty org

i use lots of ..... in my posts. it's "what i do..." i often use more exclamation marks that one, and i do it to indicate the situation is worthy of more than one exclamation mark. there's shocked and there's very shocked/angry/in need of expression. i often type my guff in a hurry and sometimes cannot think of the right words at the right time.

but thanks for implying my grasp of the english language isnt as great as yours. you're cleverer than me, well done.

my grasp of english is pretty lame, I dont mind using exclamation marks all over the place anddoing things like ?!?!?!?! to emphasise a point. The problem with the internet and communication via the internet is the lack of eyebrows.....so we have to invent other means to communicate our expressions

However, I'm not stupid or thick. Chemistry is quite a hard subject to grasp

i normaly use them to seperate sentances, dunno why but i just do, i can undertand people getting annoyed with text tvping, and poor spelling, but cant see the problem with a few extra question marks.......... or ............. ?

surely theres more important things in life to worry about?

I do try to keep to a decent level of language but often fail. I apologise if this does annoy people.
