Driving while using a mobile phone

lol, ive just re-read my previous and im glad you've taken it the right way my appolgies if it seemed a little sharp. But no its not something I make a habbit out of doing but as I mentioned in the OP I have been known to do it.

i'm sure that if they can afford cars of that price then a fine will be loose change to them.

Yep, if a silly git was on the roundabout and nearly took my mate out once whilst on the phone I would never of had to come past and boot off the wing mirror. I would never do something like that if this really happened of course. Probably a dipstick in a Toyota Avensis just coming off from the M2/A2 towards Canterbury I reckon that would have really peed him off, if it happened of course

Cops should be slamming out the fines on this rule, dont we thing the fine is a bit poncy and should really be something fixed at say £200 and 3 points no less?

As money is no object to some people they pay the fine with no issues but with points everyone is only allowed 12 at a time so it does all even out in the end.
We have one lady on our patch who current is disqual x3 and has 35 points on her licence.

Everytime she was in court they gave her more points. She has also had many tickets, they all took time to get on her licence.

How? The powers that be are too focussed on getting our boys in blue using speed guns. To prosecute mobile phone users they need evidence which would stand up in court, as all defendats would have the right to choose.In the case of using a phone at the wheel will have to be visual. So that requires side facing video cameras or 2 officers in the car.

These days there are hardly any traffic cops around these days and mostly solo officers, so the curse of people texting and using phones at the wheel will continue, until someone wakes up to the fact that they need officers out on the road prosecuting people.

It would be like shooting fish in a barrel round here.
