Not saying either is entirely better, both will have advantages. 8981 will affect slope just of initial part of curve, pushing it to more digressive with less bleed. 8983 seems to be very linear effect, looks to alter slope of almost whole curve (there are some shock dyno results kicking about)

That said, I was recommended the -83 for SV.
