Yeah i have seen malllory for £40 with no limits in January , a risk i know but at that price if the weather is going to be bad i will just not go as £40 is not a lot to loose.

but next year i plan to do Silverstone, donnington, Oulton and cadwell.

Just got to get the trailer for the car sorted, and a few more trick bits for the bike
There's a £39 trackday in December at Cadwell too buddy

I like Lozzo's outlook on things, that's how I feel when I crack a helmet on.

Just what I wanted out of this thread the deep and meaningfull insights into why people like to ride. Many times these sorts of threads are full of "i like to go fast" "i like the freedom" "corners"

But here we have elaboration, we have the personal significance.

This morning the air smelt so fresh, the sunrise was really nice.

I gave it a big ol' handfull of throttle in fourth, what a wonderfull sound through some of the tunnels!

There is one memory of road riding that will stick with me for a long time...

World Supers Donnington 2007, my first race I went to on my own bike.

Set of at 5am, a bloody chilly Spring morning. No traffic about, the roads are a bikers bliss, but you know that there are a few odd thousand people doing the same as you. The roads your own all the way, nothing to stop you. You turn up at the track behind other bikes, queing to get in as you've all made the effort to see the same thing.

That morning, there was a feeling of beautiful lonelieness (sp) (to describe that, I was alone, I enjoyed it, because I sort of knew I wasn't really).

My bike is the most relaxing place I know. Theres no sound above the wind buffet and engine noise, no people to distract you, all your concentration is focussed on the road ahead and not being killed. Completely takes your mind off all of life's stresses. I often go for a ride when I need time to unwind, time to think.

And it's fun!

I like the power and pull of the engine, the sound and smells but I hate riding when it's really windy.

Much like specialone has said, I like the communion (if thats a word) of bikers. The nodding and waving. When I broke down at the side of a motorway the next biker along the road swung over and pulled up to see if he could be of any help. Car drivers are in so a push and shove childish charge for their destination that you dont get that kind of good nature between them, its quite sad really.
Biking it kind of gives a sign that the good in people does still exist. It just shows that when people are enjoying something (ie their journey) they will do more to help others. The privalidge no longer exists within car driving, its become an expected stage in a persons life. But to have a bike thats a choice, its a privalidge and it seems to bring out the best in people.

I'd love to do Silverstone, such a big wide track

Mallory was good, it's short but was a load of fun

those halcyon days where you achieve absolute focus and clarity and you get that weird synergy with the bike and every thing just flows.

awesome

that and the utterly mental accelaration, oh, and the corners. and the look of the things.

the sound

the feeling of being truley allive when you get off the thing at the end of a good days riding
