that's with anti scratch and uv coating @ 5 quid a pair give or take
Thanks for the heads up on Select Specs - just bought 6 pairs for £40 - if they are crap they are still £160 less than my last pair!

Cheers Pookie - I'll try and report back on the quality - for £5 a pair you can't really worry

How can you buy from internet, I spent ages at Asda trying pairs on - putting my hair up to make sure they suited my face.

I loved some frames but they didnt suit my face - you cant do this on the net??

Or is that just a girlie thing

took me all of 7 minutes to choose mine this afternoon, took in helmet, straight arms to fit on easily, rubber on arms to stop them moving, thin enough to pull chin bar on helmet down without pushing on frame; so I can have a fag at lights......simple.

Cheers Mark.

I have worn glasses for years so know what styles suit my face. Another way to do it is to look at frames and sizes online then spend an hour or two in boots or specsavers finding similar frames and trying them out.

For £5 a pair as the deal with select specs is, if they look rubbish I can wear them in the helmet and not damage a better pair, or while doing diy/ gardening etc.

Its not quite the same but I used the virtual miror and uploaded a pic of my head

http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/virtual_mirror/

I also used my current glasses to determine the size of lenses and bridge measurements to look at.

I downloaded a ruler to measure the pupilary distance like

http://www.spectacles.com/support-fi...ance_ruler.pdf

note measure it with a proper ruler to make sure its printed coreectly.

I have to go into a shop as I have the ultra thin lenses, they have to position the glasses on me to see where I look out of so that they get the prescription in the right place. Somethin that can't be done on the net.

I wear contacts/glasses every day all day so I dont mind paying, I get half back as I am in a health scheme.

There's NO dental service available!
( but I DO get free eye tests )

Id avoid specsavers - I got my glasses from there (buy one get one free and tbh the quality of them is rubbish. They sit wonky and one of the lenses is sort-of falling out already - only had them a year! Luckily I dont use them at work so im not too fussed about the wonkyness

I find the D&A ones to be pricey but worth every penny. Had mine for about 2 years and they are still going strong
