I was home by 8pm last night and Phil made it to London.

Both exhausted from the emotional day and today I feel subdeude but comforted at the fact that so many people loved Hovis, and I only hope he knows that.

We too saw the Rainbow and Quiff, I too noticed the sun break through for a moment at the church, was poigniant indeed.

Dunster 1 and 2 brought comfort to me as it was a reminder of the laughs we had at Porlock and how he was chuffed with his decorated tent and his very own Dunster sheep!

Much love to all and thanks for the hugs!

Hi, reading these posts has got me full up again. Damn lump in my throat wont go.

It was a fantastic turnout by the Org yesterday. I think most of us from the WRC and SBW clubs were astounded that so many had travelled such long distances to be there.

Special thanks to Drew for his assistance to us all during this sad time.

Someone said that they didn't think Hovis knew how much he was liked; He certainly does now.

Like many others I`d also like to say that I felt so proud to be part of the org yesterday. The number of bikes there (I believe there was around 130) was testament to Hovis`s popularity and the respect that so many people hold for him.

I couldn`t believe the sheer volume of people, not just bikers but obviously Hovis`s family and friends from other areas of his life... it was truly staggering!

My heart went out to Mrs Furness... she just looked so bewildered and lost and I hope that in time she gets great comfort from yesterday`s service and from seeing so many of his friends arrive to pay tribute. I`m sure that the locals will never let her forget "the day they buried Hovis and the place came to a standstill due to the sheer volume of traffic".

Hovis wherever you are I`m sure you`re smiling and just as amazed as everyone else at the turnout. I`d also like to mention at this point that we all know you were often quite vocal when it came to the female members and often insisted that the "thread was useless without pics"!!! Last night it suddenly struck me that now you`re "up there" you possibly have the powers of being able to look down on us all and see what we`re all up to. I`d respectfully like to ask you to spare the female orger`s blushes and when it comes to shower/bath/bed time please be gentlemanly enough to close your eyes and not be tempted to peep!!!

I had planned to attend, but unfortunatly due to work circumstances i was unable to. Really glad that everything went well, and so many turned up to give him a good send off. RIP Hovis.

I think it is fantastic how all those who were able to attend were able to give Hovis's family and friends emotional support. It must of really made everyone proud and all i can say is well done to all of you who went to say goodbye.

Great to hear the funeral was a good send off.

Just got the wife a new laptop and copying over her MP3 collection. The copy failed and this was the song it stopped on. George Michael - You have been loved. I didn't really know Hovis, but loss of a son is tragic for any mother and this made me think of Hovis' mum for some reason. I dare say it will make some of you cry so don't click on the link if you don't want to hear it

http://www.goear.com/files/sst3/d3c6...55d9ede3cf.mp3

The song seems very negative, a mother loosing faith after the loss of her son, there is even a reference to the mother being terrified of something, her perception of the motorbike perhaps, and the reference to winning battles is uncanny in Hovis' case, but there are a few lyrics in bold, in my interpretation, meant to have been said by the son to the mother, which lift the tone.

She takes the back road and the lane
Past the school that has not changed
In all this time
She thinks of when the boy was young
All the battles she had won
Just to give him life

That man
She loved that man
For all his life
But now we meet to bring him flowers
And only God knows why

For what's the use in pressing palms
When children fade in a mother's arms

It's a cruel world
We've so much to loose
And what we have to learn we rarely choose

So if it's God who took her son
He cannot be the one living in her mind

Take care my love, she said
Don't think that God is dead
Take care my love, she said

You have been loved

If I was weak, forgive me
But I was terrified

You brushed my eyes with angels wings, full of love
The kind that makes devils cry
So these days
My life has changed
And I'll be fine

But she just sits and counts the hours
Searching for her crime

So what's the use of pressing palms
If you won't keep such love from harm

It's a cruel world
You've so much to prove
And heaven helps the ones who wait for you

Well I've no daughters, I've no sons
Guess I'm the only one
Living in my life

Take care my love, he said
Don't think that God is dead
Take care my love, he said

You have been loved
