Photoshopping needed

^ im going to try that program as macromedia fireworks is a bit more for texture manipulation that photoshop stuf

I even tried to copy it but get the font closer matching, then I had a major fit of apathy and didn't finish it. Cool idea tho

I've just downloaded Gimp and it is bloody impossible to use. Someone give me some novice tips please...

the selection tools in the toolbox are all you want to do what i did, im crap at it so i dont know the efficient ways.

To select bits i want to color, I use a combination of using free select tool and fuzzy select. When either of them are selected to the left at the bottom of the toolbox are the tool options.

Mode: add to selection, subtract from selection etc... these are needed for selection bits of the photo then unselecting bits etc.

For the fuzzy select tool there a threshold setting in the options too.


One you have a bit selected you can save then selection to come back to it again later. 'select' from the top menu bar 'save to channel'

To change colour ' color' on the menu bar then 'colorise'

try paint.net - still free but a lot more intuitive imho.
