Cool. Glad you got a good deal. I have seen a few bikes in there which I was interested in but the prices put me off. Good to know they are open to suggestions.

Alright Pete

I've only fired it up for about 5 mins, sad I know but it's been a busy weekend

I had a tinker tonight. Looks like it's had a fairly staid ownership to date since it's running the standard gearing, which is often the first mod

I tried quite a few bikes over the summer and could'nt get away from the Tuono. Others may look a damn sight better but as a machine it fits me like a glove

I can't wait to get out on it

A lot of the bikes in MSB seem dirty and overpriced. That said, I got a good deal on my SV. I was looking to get about £300 knocked off the price and I got £400 to spend upstairs instead. Friendly and helpful, and always happy for you to test ride.

Just don't go back afterwards.

The staff in the shop upstairs obey the letter of the law on defective goods, but offer nothing in the way of customer service. I had to take a pair of boots back after three months where the stitching was coming away around the zip and they wouldn't exchange them. Insisted they had to send them back to their supplier for repair/replacement. This is their legal minimum requirement under the law, but it left me with no boots for my only mode of transport at the time. I bought an emergency pair from Hein Gericke, who offer a much more customer-friendly warranty.

The staff in the workshop are no better. I took the bike in for a service and to have a Scottoiler fitted. Some issues I had asked them to look at were ignored completely. The Scottoiler installation is an ugly, messy affair (they fitted one to my brothers bike previously, and made a much better job). They also managed to lose all the Scottoiler instructions so I was left with the unit itself and nothing else.

For my next service, I shall try Bikers World in Daventry, I think.

Agreed.

Most people I know, only go there for a coffee and a test ride.

I have only been there for Tires and the free Coffee but they seem quite good. (the customer service not the coffee)

Gave me free fitting on a set of tires as they were the last ones they had in stock.

In fairness, I did send the recovery truck to MSB when they couldn't fix the puncture in my rear tyre, and it only cost about £100 for a new Dunlop SportMax including fitting, which I didn't think was too bad at all.
