Bombalong, the best and easiest option is to fit the complete front end of the same bike, that way you get the yokes, forks, wheel and brakes all together. I picked up a complete front from a GSXR600 K4 which went straight onto my pointy K5 for under £400. the only fiddle is getting the speedo to work. I then managed to find another complete front for only £300 so they are out there on Ebay. If you do go the GSXR600 K4 route and do it in bits I've got a set of yokes that you can have for free (I need the rest of the second set as spares but I figure I'm never going to break a yoke....)

PS, forgot to mention,
I've also still got all the original SV front end which I'll flog you at whatever the Org decides is the going rate if you decide to stay original.

take that back Red Herring, i have been think long and hard and im definatly going todo the conversion at some point, but in all honesty im really wanting to get back on the road (even with the snow) will k8 sv650 forks fit my 03. do you think that a head on whack would have busted anything else to the bike. ( 30mph to stop instantly ). also some good news! i talked to the copper i whacked on saturday and we have sorted everything out privatly. *wipes brow*

il give abit more detail on the standard forks, the ones i am looking at are off a k8 SVs, would these fit onto my naked 03?

I'm pretty sure all the Pointy bits are interchangeable, only the subframe on the K3 is different. As I said if you want original Pointy I've the whole front end going spare, but that's not for free I'm afraid.

haha cheers red herring, im just waiting on a few things, ive got offers from a few guys, but i will be sure to let you know.

ive just looked on the net and it seems that fork springs are sold to fit 03-08 bikes. in theory *in my mind* that seems to show that the diameters are the same etc.
