And...
Who the hell is gonna remember all that crap anyway and have time to implement any of it.
From what i have seen on you tube on this subject, its pure luck if you stay on.
So if and when it happens to me, im just gonna pray

I think relying on luck to keep you out of trouble is a little bit defeatist, but if it works for you so be it....

I think someone who asks for advice is entitled to receive it, what they make of it is their call. I do think if people want to offer advice though they ought to try and explain it a little as it makes it easier to follow if you understand the thoughts behind it....

Twist of the wrist says telling yourself you're NOT having a crash works in any situation.

Best thing I heard in here is to grip tank hard with your legs and not death-grip the bars. That can't make it any worse and can avoid one of the mechanisms of making it much worse.

Agreed, but the bit in bold is the most important. We all spend our childhoods learning from books written by subject matter experts, and we therefore have a natural tendency to treat the written word as gospel.

The growth of the internet, wiki, forums, blogs, is breaking that tenancy and we are growing more accustomed to thinking about who the author is, but we are not quite there yet.

In this case the consequences of following a bad piece of advice could be grim, so I felt that it needed highlighting.

If i, or you managed to stay on after a slapper, wouldnt you consider yourself lucky?
But you're right, i am a bit defeatist

I based my advice on 23 years of first hand experience, and I've had some right slappers in my time...
