Bike is fixed guys and gals. Battery is absolutely fine, no issues with that at all. The reading it was giving was too high, this was due to the regulator not doing its job and allowing too much voltage through to the battery. If I let it carry on, it would have eventually blown the battery, but I luckily have caught it in time. £75 for a new genuine Honda Reg/Rec and problem solved. This has also solved the overfuelling. That must have been simply due to having to hold the start button down too long, flooding it, making starting even harder.

Anyway, all done, now I need new downpipes....the thing would NEVER pass a noise test at the moment.....I have a hole somewhere and the downpipes are pretty much shagged!

This is not a bad thing! Some dude willy waving on a gixxer (I was doing a decent speed through some bends, approaching a blind bend) went past me and was obviously revving the tits off it and it sounded like "NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEE" type noise like a fooking hair dryer

Call me slow but the irony did occur to me that on this forum, even a Honda can be fixed with a Honda regulator/rectifier. Come to think of it, is there anything that can't?

And in answer to your question, world hunger is the ONLY thing that cannot be fixed in this method
