Is truly awful... it just increases the grief and anger all round. Heather seems to be showing some encouraging signs so let`s hope she`s soon off the critical list and heading home x

Well I've no sympathy for the lad killed, the idiot shouldn't have been doing 3 times the limit in the town centre.
I hope Heather pulls through soon

I wish your friend a quick recovery DP. I can't believe how idiotic and selfish people are to speed on a stolen bike with disregard to others.

Really grinds my gears when I read about bikers doing things like this. And people often say in response "oh I suppose you never speed". Ofcourse I do, just not in built up areas and busy town centres
![]() If you want to act like a tool on your bike then fine, but do it away from innocent bystanders who you might take with you Reminds me of a young lad who passed away last year in Southport. Whilst I had the utmost sympathy for his family, I was just glad the numbnuts hadnt taken anyway out in the accident. He was 18, riding around on a Bandit 1200 that should have been restricted and wasnt. He apparently "liked his wheelies" ![]() Sorry for the derail

Tbh, matters not if he knew it was stolen or not, he obviously knew it wasn't insured so shouldn't have been on it regardless and he was doing almost three times the speed limit in a town.

You have shown above that you are someone who is to be highly respected; regardless of how you felt at the beginning, you put it aside to acknowledge the life of someone else. I for one applaud your sense of compassion to another, and am glad that you have found some peace in such a horrid situation. |

He may not have known it was stolen, but he was "well known to Preston police", so you could probably draw enough conclusions from that.

I enquired about a bike for sale: No log book (what's one of them mate?) No keys, can be started with anything (he didn't seem suspicious about this) No number plate (it's a field bike mate) Of course I reported the ad to the police, not that I would get my hopes up about it ever getting back to the rightful owner.

Very true, 2bh when I bought my car I was guilty of not checking the VIN number but had a history check done. Checked over the V5 and away I went.
I only said that as a woman at my old work bought a mini cooper S in good faith and turned out to be a ringer, police came and ![]() Anytime i'm buying something like that, my instincts are if the price is too good to be true then usually the guys a feckin thief ![]()
