Then the Mod1 in it's current form should go IMO, it was an utter shambles from the start. The concept is fine, but adopting European speed limits that required special facilities to be built should have got someone the sack.

That was the real problem with the test - so few test centres. Anyone that has to do a four hour round trip on a 125 just to take the test ought to be given an automatic pass..

Absolutely agree. It's things like this that the previous government should have stuck two fingers up to and done our way, not the way Brussels says so.

They spent £77,000,000 just for the sake of doing one part of the test 2mph faster than it could be done on the road, completely and utterly wasting a huge amount of public money. Now those test centres are to be scrapped less than 18 months later - ludicrous. Someone's head should have been on the chopping block for that one.

I'll bet the people involved still have a job at the Department of Transport or whoever decides these things.

Though I seem to remember them ignoring an EU decision about them holding certain information on us subjects as illegal.

Like going to any other EU country also supposedly effected by this ridiculous smoking ban, where they simply ignored it. I think Spain have said they're honestly, definitely, no-messing going to enforce it this year. So it's fairly certain everyone will just have a good laugh about it and carry on.

What did labour do? Oh yeah, they said "what a tip-top socialist idea to increase the paradise-like state for the masses to enjoy, let's employ a million little stalins to police it and cost everyone a fortune!"

Lets hope this lot have a bit more common sense and decency about them to consider some of these ideas and possibly tell the sprout munching faggots to catch something unpleasant rather than w*nking away billions of pounds at the slightest garlic-breath whimsy...

I know what he's getting at and everyone else gives the flying V's to what Brussels say.

I personally like to see smoking backing pubs TBH

smoking can bugger off out of pubs for life as far as i'm concerned but its another ball game.

TBH the car, bike and probably lorry examining can all go to hell. I spoke to a guy who learnt how to drive a lorry without power steering which is impossible for most new lorry drivers to do. And with all the foreign idiots coming in with licenses from countries with an appauling standard what's the point.

It's not just the bike test that needs looking at it's an even bigger picture, just like how the hell can you pass a test in a 107 and go drive a Nissan Navara the next flipping day?

It is not about smoking though, if YOU don't like smoking, complain to your landlord or find a non-smoking pub. It is for the customer to decide not for the EU to make blanket regulations, more to the point it is not our government's job to scuttle obediently to every ruling at great expense.

Letting a 17 year old kid loose in a car which is a completely different animal to the 107.
