Avoiding action to miss that bloke stood in the road might be the cause of the off. I'd miss him in that camouflage top.

Sorry, Glad you're ok though.

Is that a straight in the pic or is there a bend out of shot?

Also with no central white lines, exactly what happened ?

The road narrows even further to a humpback bridge just out of shot (I was standing next to it when I took the photo). On the other side of this bridge was an oncoming car (I'm travelling towards the camera), a car I was braking to make way for when I lost the front end. I was actually on the left hand side of the road when I was braking - as I lost the front end the bike drifted into the middle of the road, hence the impact point being relatively central. I parted company with the bike before the car hit it - from what we can gather, the bike was on its side when the car hit it, with the wheel taking the full force (it was buckled and ripped in half). All I can remember is tumbling.

And yeah, there is a bend out of shot.

Oh mate, all I can do is offer hugs, I cannot believe that you were not more hurt. Heal fast, emotionally as well as physically.

was the slippy patch tarmac (ie proper road surfacing) or bitumen ??
if it's just bitumen get photographs showing size and report it to local authority, was informed on a bikesafe course that maximum for bitumen is 5mm wide..may be worth checking.
Glad you came away with only minor injuries...any chance of 6 numbers ??
