I don't bother, I just don't leave anything of value on the bike. A tie wrap through the zips is all I'll do en-route to France and only then because somebody tampered with my luggage on an overnight crossing to Portugal last year. Just park up in a public place and if you go into a cafe sit in the window where you can see the bike if possible. Passport, wallet, camera, phone, spare keys, all in a magnetic tank bag that goes with me when I leave the bike.

If you really wanted to lock something up 'Packsafe' come recommended.

TBH most has been covered already.
I've got away with a long weekends camping and working (cough drinking cough) with a tail bag and the tent and sleeping bag strapped on top.

Yeah I think that's pretty much my plan, one bag and then tent/sleeping bag either on top or on a rack, for 3 days what can go wrong (famous last words...)
