No but I needed to get hold of as close to a replica of the L85 as i could to practise weapons handling drills for my reserves training, we only get to handle a live weapon once a year for the weapons handling test and whilst I can field strip, clean and reassamble in no time at all I made a balls up of my stoppages drill last time out and failed it, passed it straight away again but dont want to fail it again tbh, it was a little embarrasing

Once a year?!

You probably do actually, that was oct 2011, prior to that it was may 2010 when I last handled a weapon, actually got fire 30, yes, count em, 30 live rounds and that was the last and only time I will fire live rounds in my reserve career unless it all kicks off when I'm away next year, its all electronic firing ranges now, tbh as much as they keep telling us how valued we are and how much they appreciate the commitment we are making its still a bit like dads army

any of the SA80, L85 SA80A1/A2 will do, they're all exact replica's and of very similar weight and exact dimensions, same striping but obviously they have an electric motor in.

sounds ideal, they seem to fit into two camps, cheap plastic blue or orange ones or the more expensive replicas which require membership of a club to own, not worried about stripping down just need something to practise the drills on and maybe do the odd post office every now again

Oh you bad bad people, I don't NEED an air rifle but I'd still WANT one, I had a play with a Logun Stealth a couple of years ago and wanted one ever since. I've got a cheapy chinese spring one for messing with but would like a bit more power and accuracy.
