What time is the start for this event? Going to head over from Belgium and was trying to work out what time to book onto the tunnel, and whether to come across the night before?

Or can anyone recommend a cheap B&B in the area, don't care about quality, as long as it is quiet!

Booked, woo hoo.

Now trying to work out what is the most sensible time to arrive, see you all in less than 2 weeks time, I'll finally get to meet some others off sv650.org, perhaps I should be scared

Cheers,

Tim

That’s cool you have booked on Tim

Signing on is at 8am, so you need to be there for that. I'd suggest getting there no later than 7:30am so that things aren't a rush.

On a different note, is anyone able to make up some nametags or something so we know who is who??

Two quick questions:

1. Is the track clockwise or anti clockwise?

2. How far from the track is the nearest petrol station, or is there one there?

Cheers,

Tim

I made a Lydden related thread, it might interest you?

http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...er=asc&start=0

In it I posted a Lydden onboard video, it’ll give to a heads up on what to expect. It might even give you 'wood' ... it did me ...

http://www.ironmaiden.com/test/lydden_onboard.mpg (27mb)

But to simply answer your question … clockwise.

There are services down the A2 a couple of miles away from the circuit (according to an old copy of Autoroute I have got).

Ok, we’ve got a week to go!
The following is not ment to be patronising or telling people how to suck eggs, but it's worth just checking the following:

Have just chatted to a nice lady at Lydden race circuit to confirm:

<Edit>You must bring your full Driving Licence (Photo part only will be fine, EU licences also fine Tim )
</Edit>
The noise limit is set at ~95dB, though in her words “We don’t actively test for noise” so as long as you’re bike isn’t running without an end can you should be ok. That said if you have a removable baffle I’d be inclined to bring it as making one out of a coke can is a real waste of 30minutes

Leathers MUST be worn, 2 piece are fine as long as they zip together, gloves and boots must be suitable, full face helmets with ACU stickers too. If in any doubt, phone ahead on the number in the main thread.

In addition I would strongly recommend everyone takes an hour or so out of their weekend and checks their bikes over. Track miles are hard miles, and while they won’t kill a healthy bike if any of the following are due being replaced I would do it before the trackday rather than after:

Oil: Level must be good, should not be overdue a change. There is no point throwing away oil with 2000 miles of use, but if you’re due to have it changed in about 200 miles I’d be inclined to change it before Saturday.

Brake pads: Plenty of wear in all pads (front & rear)

Coolant level: Correct?

Chain: Correct tension, no tight spots or major signs of wear.

Tyres: If it’s a little squared off it’ll be fine, but make sure that there are no cracks, splits etc and there’s plenty of tread left.

Brake fluid: check levels.

In short just do a general MOT type look over the bike, if there are any issues far better to find them now than ½ way through the day!

Apart from that my bike is race prepped with the removal of two bolts and a little gaffa tape.
