I'm with Billy Connelly - no matter what the words are, sing it to the theme tune from Radio 4's The Archers.

I defy anyone to find a more beautiful anthem than I Vow To Thee My Country. It's everything England is about. A Christian song for a Christian people.

As far as NI's national anthem goes, I'm quite happy with God Save The Queen. I don't support the current rabble that masquerade as 'Royals', because they are a bunch of no-hopers. But I do believe in a Royal family, I do believe in a Monarchy, I am not a fanatic Royalist exactly, but I think it's good to show allegiance to something greater than the government of the day, and a good Monarchy could fill the role perfectly.

all these countries are in the commonwealth so theoretically should have god save the queen. But as its more of a historical thing now than the queen actually being head of state most countries have dropped it. Australia actually plays god save the queen more than we do! In alot of schools they're required to sing it every week!
