I've ridden an 'S'....albeit on tiptoes (both literally and figuretively (i'e not very fast and in need of longer legs)) and knackered tyres.... not sure you can call the original rear shock a "Shock" ...it's kind of like sitting on a plank... though chances are most people will have changed them by now.... anyway can offer no helpful advise whatsoever so I'll go away...

I rode one the other day, it was an import and had a steering damper and half fairing, so not sure which model. Fast for sure and stable but wouldn't go round tight turns, and the FI was pretty jerky. Think if it was me I'd look at the RSV etc. (which I haven't ridden) to see what the other bikes are like in the same class. I like them to go round corners.
